The annual pie social was held under sunny skies on September 9 at the Haas Family farm, a property protected from development by a conservation restriction.
More than 150 townspeople enjoyed 47 pies contributed by Richmond cooks. Raffle baskets included Richmond-made or Richmond-connected products from candles to ceramics to poetry.
David Haas represented his family and displayed a 19th century picture of the Haas Farm, purchased by his grandfather, Otto Haas, and placed under conservation by his parents, John and Chara Haas.
The event was sponsored by the Richmond Land Trust and the Richmond Historical Society.
