Lauren Broussal, volunteer editor of the Richmond Record for nine years, received the 2023 Charles and Mary Kusik Citizenship Award at the pie social.

In addition to editing the monthly newspaper, she has contributed hundreds of hours to the town on various building and planning committees and 12 years on the School Committee.

Lauren’s whole family was present for her award, and she said she had “learned early on that if we want to preserve our community, our school, our meadows, mountains, our trails and our traditions – everything that makes Richmond one of the best places in the world to live, then we ALL have to contribute -- no matter how busy our lives may be.”

Ruth Bass presented the plaque on behalf of the land trust and the historical society.
