2022 Photo Contest Winners

The annual photo contest sponsored by the Richmond Land Trust was a highlight of the 2022 pie social with display of prize-winning photos taken by 13 photographers in Richmond. Categories were given in landscape, wildlife, trees/plants and buildings/structures. RLT board member Wendy Lauren organizes the social and the contest.

First place winners: Patrick Barry, Lance Gitter, Bob Gniadek, Lonny Jarrett, and Fernando Vasconcelos. Fernando was winner in the youth category.

Second place: Amy Bass, John Gondek, John Sharaf and Cindy Silvagni.

Honorable mention: Bonnie Drewniany Clare Kelly, Jen Kolean, Ivy Leibowitz.

An estimated 120 residents attended the event Sept. 10 at Ice House Hill Farm on East Road. A conservation restriction recently placed on the farm means it will not be commercially developed, providing incredible vistas to the distant hills, rolling fields for nesting bobolinks and the sight of red and white Hereford cattle grazing in the extensive pastures. The conservation restriction was executed by Berkshire Natural Resources Council.

Bill Edwards was presented with the 2022 Charles and Mary Kusik Citizenship Award.
